Typical of its sunny, temperate vintage, the 2018 Bramasole shows a sophisticated, nuanced side of Syrah in a wine that’s as silky as it is sexy. Rich, opulent, and silky-smooth, Pian delle Vigne’s 2017 Brunello defies its challenging vintage with its intense, kaleidoscopic palate and its weighty yet balanced feel. Balsamic herbs, melted... dark chocolate, pressed violet petals, sun-warmed earth, vanilla, and peppery spices frame the super-ripe, ultra-juicy cherries and berries in this bewitching Brunello. Sweet, fine-grained tannins meld with the wine’s bright acidity in this intensely pleasurable 2107 Brunello that’s approachable virtually upon release, though time in the cellar will make it even better.

Also a relatively new addition to Prunotto’s lineup, the 2018 Barbaresco Bric Turot offers a swaggering, dark complement to the estate’s delicate and ethereal... 2018 Barbaresco Secondine. Brooding and striking, this wine layers its crunchy red and juicy blue fruits with ample notes of tobacco, warm loam, new leather, underbrush, baking spices, and violets. This structured Barbaresco needs a couple of years to tame its burly tannins, but with some time, it’ll turn into a gentle giant that will bewitch with its kaleidoscopic palate.
$59.00In StockPaolo Scavino
One of our favorite things about Scavino is the price to quality ratio. While many of the older wineries – the big names that Scavino sits at the table with – command pricing beyond $150 per... bottle, the wines from this estate are definitely in a more affordable range. These are designed for all consumers thanks to the use of neutral French oak, which allows for early drinkability without the extra flavors. The result are wines that truly represent each vineyard and the Langhe terroir. Instead of waiting 20 years to drink them, you could start drinking them in as little as 2-3 years… very exciting!
