Bartolo Mascarello Barolo 2017
“Elegance” is the watchword for Maria Teresa Mascarello’s 2017 Barolo. This supple, glossy, and aromatic wine defies the challenges of its vintage by presenting an utterly classic, graceful profile. Fistfuls of rose petals, violets, and iris frame wild cherries and berries, underlain by loam, licorice, orange peel, and iron ore. This wine gleams with purity, matching its grainy tannins with driving acidity in a complete, harmonious package. While you could drink this Mascarello beauty in a year or two, it’ll live for decades in magnum, growing better with time.
