Tasting Notes
Will Di Nunzio 95
Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino 2007
Brunello aficionados will recall that in the bookend banner vintages of 2006 and 2007, the former is the cool, austere year and the latter is riper and more generous. With Biondi-Santi’s Brunello, however, 2007 marries austerity with succulence as it seamlessly welds its luscious fruits with worn leather, rose potpourri, black licorice, minty herbs, and cool earth. Tannins feel wonderfully grainy, and the estate’s trademark elegant acidity adds power and tension to the dry extract. Enjoyable now, this wine has decades ahead of it.
