Canalicchio di Sopra shows what great terroir, hard work, and a lot of skill can do in a “winemaker’s vintage” like 2018 — the estate’s Brunello is a knockout! Silky, juicy red and blue fruits burst from the glass with complementary notes of forest floor, violet petals, cedar wood, peppery spices, and herbs. This is a pure, refined, and nuanced Brunello with grainy tannins and spectacular balance — give it a couple of years in the cellar before enjoying for a decade.
