About Cantina del Taburno

Nestled in 1,500 acres (around 1,100 under vine) in the craggy hills surrounding Campania’s Mount Taburno, Cantina del Taburno is a diamond in the rough. Cantina del Taburno banded together in 1901, building a cantina in 1972, allowing its small producers to market their wines, and over the years, they’ve increased to more than 300 winemakers. The producers of Cantina del Taburno make the most of their clayey, marly, and calcareous soils by sustainably growing a range of indigenous grapes, notably Aglianico and Piedirosso for reds, and Falanghina and Fiano for whites. In 1980, the Agricultural Consortium of Benevento acquired Cantina del Taburno, both expanding and making technical improvements to the collective’s cantina. Today, Cantina del Taburno is helmed by a pair of agronomists, Alfonso de Angelis, and by Filippo Colandrea, who oversee the wine production with a dedicated team. Cantina del Taburno currently crafts six red wines, six whites, and two sparklers — each one is a gem to be discovered, shared, and enjoyed!
