Cerbaia Brunello di Montalcino 2018
Sleek, muscular, and a little bit sauvage, Cerbaia’s 2018 Brunello does its ripe year proud. An explosion of crunchy cherries and succulent plums find their complements in warm saddle leather, crushed herbs, fresh loam, blood orange zest, and a touch of tapenade. Tannins feel silky yet substantial, acidity is lively, dry extract is lush, and a subtle line of minerality adds interest and salinity to this delicious, concentrated Brunello. Enjoyable now with aeration, even better in five years.
