Tasting Notes
Will Di Nunzio 95
Col d’Orcia Brunello di Montalcino 2018
Muscular tannins, fresh acidity, elegant and savory minerality, and crunchy red fruits meld seamlessly together in Col d’Orcia’s complex, delineated 2018 Brunello. Winemaker Santiago Marone Cinzano has been working tirelessly to up the quality of Col d’Orcia’s organic wines, and his efforts blossom in this Brunello release. Juicy raspberries and plums layer with fresh earth, rose petals, citrus zest, licorice, saddle leather, and touches of mushroom and spicy tobacco in this arresting wine. Tannins are chewy but approachable, pinging the cheeks with texture on the wine’s lingering, savory finish.
