Giuseppe Quintarelli Rosso del Bepi Veneto IGT 2016
The easiest way to describe Rosso del Bepi is to say that it’s a declassified Quintarelli Amarone, but knowing this fact doesn’t encapsulate the excellence of this wine. The textured, velvety 2016 Rosso del Bepi tantalizes the palate with myriad notes — sweet berries, crisp cherries, warm earth, Christmas cookie, licorice, flower petals, pressed wild herbs, melted chocolate, and cigar wrapper, to name a few — and it delivers a drinking experience that’s graceful, intense, ethereal, and unforgettable. The next best thing to a Quintarelli Amarone is the estate’s Rosso del Bepi, and the 2016 is terrific.
