Lucien Le Moine Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2016
Intense and hedonistic, the 2016 Bâtard-Montrachet from Lucien Le Moine is explosively unique. Super-saturated pear and orchard fruits float with smoky minerals, Christmas spices, lemon tart, chalky earth, and a smidgeon of wild herbs in this impressive, compelling wine. Thick and profound as it is, this Bâtard-Montrachet nonetheless has plenty of acidic energy as it unfurls its myriad layers and rockets to a lingering, sustained and remarkable finish. This wine, like all Lucien Le Moine wines, requires decanting, and it’s both enjoyable now and suitable for aging.
