Lucien Le Moine Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2016
Lucien Le Moine crafted a profound and unforgettable Chevalier-Montrachet in 2016. Weighty yet racy, intense yet defined, loaded with sweet orchard fruits yet replete with savory minerality, and thoroughly delicious yet difficult to describe, this Chardonnay is the epitome of a “Wow!” wine. Meyer lemon, acacia blossom, smoky minerals, and subtle spices frame the ultra-sweet pears and apples in this kaleidoscopic wine, but powerful acidity and a sturdy mineral spine keep this wine on its toes, providing balance and structure. This wine, like all Lucien Le Moine wines, requires decanting, and it’s both enjoyable now and suitable for aging.
