In 2017, the Antinori family purchased the Haras de Pirque estate from the Matte family, cementing the Antinori presence in Chile. Antinori first partnered with the Mattes in 2002 to create Albis, Haras de Pirque’s flagship wine. Today, the estate spans 247 acres of organically grown vineyards, along with a state-of-the-art gravitational wine cellar, and a thoroughbred horse breeding farm. Haras de Pirque’s trellised vineyards are planted primarily to Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay, along with Merlot and select Bordeaux grapes. Sitting between 1,804 to 2,100 feet above sea level, near the foothills of the Cordillera de los Andes, these lands have sublime microclimates that boast gentle Pacific breezes, volcanic soils, terrific diurnal temperature swings, and long, sunny growing seasons. Haras de Pirque currently crafts six wines in the trademark Antinori style that marries bold, delicious profiles with Italian sophistication and finesse.
