2019 Massolino Barolo
Classic, tannic lines, a soaring structure, and finesse to spare, Massolini’s 2019 Barolo is a triumph. This ultra-refined Barolo slowly teases a laser-focused nose of sour cherries and raspberries are framed by underbrush, blood orange, tarry earth, rich baking spices, and rose petals, Elegant, chewy tannins seamlessly meld with nicely powerful acidity, and a sweet inner lift finds tension with satisfying dry extract in this ethereal, sophisticated Barolo. A cuvée of seven prime Serralunga sites, this wine fermented in tini and concrete before aging for 30 months in botti. Cellar for a year or two and then enjoy for decades.
