Paolo Bea Montefalco Sagrantino Secco Cerrete 2017
Coming from the high elevation Cerreta vineyard, this 2017 Paolo Bea Sagrantino weds intensity with elegance in an unforgettable, long-lived red that’s rich yet never heavy. Fresh loam joins juicy black plums, brambly berries, and crunchy currants with fresh loam, violet petals, peppery spices, saddle leather, and whiffs of incense and oak. Bea’s careful, extended protocol helps to bring out the chewy, velvety side of Sagrantino’s tannins while maintaining the wine’s freshness and silky fruits. Cellar for a year or two and enjoy for decades.
