Paolo Bea Santa Chiara Umbria Bianco IGT 2020
Always a DVNO favorite, the skin-contact Santa Chiara is a blend of equal parts Grechetto, Malvasia, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Garganega that sits on its fine lees for about a year before bottling. The 2020 vintage brings us an expressive, tension-filled wine that layers its sun-warmed stone fruits with white pepper, baking spices, candied ginger, acacia blossoms, and wet river rocks. This wine has gorgeous fine-grained tannins, zesty acidity, a plush mouthfeel, all shot through with mouth-watering saline minerals. Enjoy over the medium term, probably longer.
