Poggio di Sotto Rosso di Montalcino 2018
While 2018 threw a lot of wild weather at Brunello’s producers, Poggio di Sotto made an effortless, graceful, and deeply nuanced Rosso di Montalcino. This stunning wine exudes class and pedigree; layers of crisp red fruits mingle with crushed wild herbs, underbrush, violet petals, warm baking spices, and touches of cedar wood and minerals. This superbly textured wine feels lacey yet powerful, with velvety tannins, lively acidity, a sweet inner lift, and gorgeous dry extract. You can open this outstanding effort right away or enjoy over the medium term.
