Tenuta di Salviano “Castello di Titignano” Sauvignon Blanc Umbria IGT 2022

The inaugural vintage of Salviano’s mono-varietal Sauvignon Blanc, this 2022 release reflects the decades of work the estate has done with the beloved grape. Telltale herbaceous notes of tomato leaf frame the crisp orchard fruits and sultry tropical citrus in this utterly charming Umbrian Sauvignon Blanc. Loads of savory minerals unfurl on the textured palate, with seamless balance between the nice dry extract and elegant acidify. Perfect from appetizers through the fish course, this Sauv Blanc will delight your guests! [Will Di Nunzio, 06/03/2024]

    Description

About Tenuta di Salviano “Castello di Titignano”

Both very old and extremely new, Tenuta di Salviano is the latest venture at the Castello di Titignano property in Umbria. Owned since 1650 by the Corsini family, the vineyards surrounding Castello di Titignano, which was built in 937, have been making fine wine for millennia. In the 20th century, the Titignano property passed into the hands of the Incisa della Rocchetta family, when Donna Nerina Corsini married Marchese Enrico Incisa della Roccetta, the family responsible for the creation of Sassicaia at Tenuta San Guido, their estate in Bolgheri. In 2015, Titignano passed to Priscilla and Giovanni Incisa della Rocchetta, the children of Nerina and Enrico; five years later, following the death of Priscilla, Giovanni decided to honor his sister’s memory with the creation of Tenuta di Salviano, a special winemaking entity dedicated to crafting fine Umbrian wines. Spanning 173 acres on the southern side of Corbara Lake in the heart of the Orvieto Classico wine region, Salviano sports soils rich in limestone and fossils and grows a combination of indigenous and international grape varietals.

    Tenuta Marino Di Monterado

Tenuta Marino Audacia IGT Marche Rosso 2018 1.5L

    A DVNO WINE Exclusive

Tenuta Marino Audacia IGT Marche Rosso 2018

Tenuta Marino’s flagship wine, Audacia makes the most of its low production, high quality 2018 vintage... with a wine that’s intense, detailed, and frankly gorgeous. This kaleidoscopic wine wraps its succulent wild berries with sun-warmed herbs, peppery spices, and kisses of cocoa and salty caramel in a complex, muscular, and balanced profile. Mostly Montepulciano with Cabernet Sauvignon and some Sangiovese Grosso, Audacia is a bold, structured red that welcomes your discovery — and it’s sure to appreciate in value down the road!

    Castello Bonomi

Castello Bonomi Franciacorta Brut CruPerdu DOCG NV 1.5L

    About Castello Bonomi

The Paladin family, who has been making estate-bottled wine for about 60 years, owns several estates across Italy, from the Veneto to Tuscany, but... perhaps their most famous and most distinct is Castello Bonomi, in Lombardy’s Franciacorta region. With vinicultural history that dates back to medieval Benedictine monks, Franciacorta spans about 5,400 acres, but this rare northern Italian region is devoted to one unique style of wine: the best champagne-styled sparklers that you can find outside of France — indeed, it’s the sole DOCG region that permits classic méthode champenoise sparklers. The family-owned-and-operated Castello Bonomi estate is housed in a gorgeous art deco villa built in the late nineteenth century, and the estate’s vineyards sit on 60 steeply pitched acres in a natural amphitheater that rests at the foot of Mount Orfano. These terraced vineyards enjoy a privileged microclimate that includes limestone-rich soils, southern exposures, excellent drainage, and pure sunlight. These elements provide the raw materials that Castello Bonomi’s Chardonnay and Pinot Nero grapes need, while a strict green harvest, low yields, and stringent grape sorting help the estate’s team craft a range of terroir-driven, award-winning Franciacorta wines.

Tenuta Marino Viaggio IGT Marche Rosso 2018 1.5L

    WD91
About Tenuta Marino: Capitalizing upon Chris Marino’s experience working in Michelin-starred restaurants and Marjorie Marino’s international background in marketing and management, the couple... recognized a rare opportunity to forge the life they wanted in Le Marche, finding the property that would become their Tenuta Marino in 2017. Located a short drive from the Adriatic resort town of Senigallia, Tenuta Marino is new to the world, but what this estate lacks in history, it more than makes up for in microclimate and natural beauty. Just fifteen organically tended acres, the Marino estate holds multiple olive groves and 8 acres of vineyards planted to indigenous grapes Sangiovese and Montepulciano, as well as both red and white international varietals. The estate’s debut wine is its crisp mono-varietal 2018 Sangiovese Rosé, but Marino has since released three reds and will soon release its two Metodo Classico sparklers as well. Poised to make the most out of its sea-swept, sunny hillside vineyards, Tenuta Marino has a bright future for its winemakers — and for lovers of Italian wine.

    Bartolo Mascarello

    Bartolo Mascarello Barolo 2018 1.5L

    About Bartolo Mascarello

Bartolo Mascarello was an intractable defender of traditional Barolo, the “last of the Mohicans,” in his words. Bartolo made Barolos that... gorgeously embodied their vintage and their terroir, and these supple, powerful, and nuanced wines have captivated their fans for generations. Since Bartolo’s passing in 2005, his daughter Maria Teresa Mascarello has helmed the cantina at 15 Via Roma, the legendary site of the Bartolo Mascarello estate since its founding in 1918, and under her leadership, Mascarello’s Barolo, Dolcetto, and Barbera have grown even finer, subtler, more detailed, and spellbinding. While the Mascarello estate sports enviable holdings in Cannubi, San Lorenzo and Rué, located in the commune of Barolo, as well as in La Morra’s Rocche in the commune of La Morra, it still has never released a cru wine. Blending, Bartolo believed, provided balance, especially in challenging vintages. Maria Teresa sees no reason to change her father’s ways (or those of his father, and his before him). After all, there’s no improving upon perfection.

    Poderi Aldo Conterno

Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo Granbussia 2006 1.5L

    About Poderi Aldo Conterno

Poderi Aldo Conterno rose to fame by crafting some of the best-known, best-loved cru Barolo expressions in its Barolo Romirasco, Colonnello, and... Cicala, as well as its Chardonnay Bussiador and its Quartetto, a red wine that blends Nebbiolo with international grapes. In 1969, Aldo Conterno famously parted ways with his brother at their father’s estate, Giacomo Conterno, and founded Poderi Aldo Conterno in the “Favot” cellar on 61 acres in Bussia of Monforte d'Alba, the heart of Barolo country. Aldo’s vision was to craft wines that blended traditional structure, grace, and longevity with exquisitely transparent terroir, seductive juiciness, and a clearly defined personality. Before his death in 2012, Aldo achieved all this and more, creating a winemaking legacy that set him apart as one of the world’s greatest winemakers. The Aldo Conterno estate continues Aldo’s remarkable winemaking work in the hands of his three sons, Franco, Stefano, and Giacomo.
