Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto Toscana IGT 2021
Tenuta San Guido calls the 2021 growing year “classic,” and this Guidalberto vintage embraces the term in its racy lines, plump fruits, and alluring combination of accessibility and age-worthiness. Fistfuls of juicy cherries and tart berries layer with savory notes of bitter chocolate, crushed stones, new leather, spice, truffles, and earth in this sumptuous, structured Guidalberto, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This midweight wine is all about tension: fleshiness vs. raciness, intensity vs. laser focus, sweetness vs. earthiness. Tannins are silky, acidity is lively, and everything is in place to drink now or fifteen years from now.
