About Villa S.Anna
Located in the village of Abbadia di Montepulciano the hills of southern Tuscany, Villa S. Anna (originally spelled Villa Sant’Anna) stands as a standard... bearer of traditional Vino di Montepulciano. Villa S.Anna is owned and operated by three women: matriarch Simona Ruggeri Fabroni and her two daughters, Anna and Margherita. Simona’s family had owned the land that’s now Villa S.Anna for centuries, quietly making some wine for personal consumption and selling off the rest of the grapes to other producers. In 1989, Simona decided to begin estate-bottling her wines, and Villa S.Anna was born. Over the past three decades, Simona and her daughters have increased their vineyard holdings to about 25 acres, mostly in the two regions of Chianti Colli Senesi and Vino Nobili Montepulciano, and today this small estate crafts four wines, each one representative of its Tuscan land, Tuscan traditions, and the passion of three Tuscan women.About Ada Nada
The Ada Nada estate, which sits in the Rombone subregion of Barbaresco, dates to 1919 when Carlo Nada planted his first 7.5 acres of vines. More than a century... later, the family-owned-and-operated estate is still going strong, run by Annalisa and Elvio, the great-granddaughter of founder Carlo and her ex-rugby player husband. Ada Nada has grown to just over 22 acres in Treiso, and the estate has been certified organic for more than a decade. Annalisa and Elvo, who run the winery with help from their children, love its intimate size, which grows enough wine to support the family but doesn’t demand more energy than they have to give. Ada Nada is a true “in-the-know” Barbaresco estate, and its hard-to-find, limited-production wines are high quality but they don’t strain the wallet. Ada Nada’s winemaking protocol relies on a thoughtful mix of traditional with some more modern methods, and the winery crafts pure, authentic single-vineyard Barbaresco expressions, among other typical Langhe wines.About Villa S.Anna

The Paladin family, who has been making estate-bottled wine for about 60 years, owns several estates across Italy, from the Veneto to Tuscany, but... perhaps their most famous and most distinct is Castello Bonomi, in Lombardy’s Franciacorta region. With vinicultural history that dates back to medieval Benedictine monks, Franciacorta spans about 5,400 acres, but this rare northern Italian region is devoted to one unique style of wine: the best champagne-styled sparklers that you can find outside of France — indeed, it’s the sole DOCG region that permits classic méthode champenoise sparklers. The family-owned-and-operated Castello Bonomi estate is housed in a gorgeous art deco villa built in the late nineteenth century, and the estate’s vineyards sit on 60 steeply pitched acres in a natural amphitheater that rests at the foot of Mount Orfano. These terraced vineyards enjoy a privileged microclimate that includes limestone-rich soils, southern exposures, excellent drainage, and pure sunlight. These elements provide the raw materials that Castello Bonomi’s Chardonnay and Pinot Nero grapes need, while a strict green harvest, low yields, and stringent grape sorting help the estate’s team craft a range of terroir-driven, award-winning Franciacorta wines.About Azienda Agricola La Torre
"La Torre" translates to "the tower," and this exciting Montalcino estate spreads across almost 90 acres in Sesti, near Sant’Angelo in Colle,... though fewer than 14 acres are under vine. Owner-winemaker Luigi Anania purchased this estate in 1976, and the winery saw its inaugural Brunello vintage in 1982, one of the truly fabled years of the last century. Anania and his team use non-interventionist practices in the vineyard and traditional winemaking in the cellar to craft La Torre’s terroir-driven, accessible wines. The most remarkable aspect of La Torre is the elevation of its vineyards. Perched at about 1,500 feet above sea level in the southwestern Brunello subzone, these naturally terraced, limestone-rich vineyards are high enough to enjoy gentle breezes coming off the Tyrrhenian Sea, which helps La Torre’s Sangiovese Grosso grapes ripen fully, while escaping heat and dryness. La Torre’s delicious, enjoyable, and traditional Brunello wines are true gems, especially at their relatively affordable price point. No account yet?
