About Tenuta Terraviva

The name is a hint, but Tenuta Terraviva, located just one kilometer from the Adriatic in the rolling hills of Tortoreto in Abruzzo, is committed to crafting natural wines that telegraph their terroir with every sip. Organic since 1998, family-owned-and-operated Terraviva grows native grapes like Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Trebbiano, Passerina and Pecorino, crafting two lines of wines, one made from younger vines released under the Terraviva label and one from older vines that’s fittingly called Old Vines. The Bordini family has worked this land since the 1970s, and their holdings now comprise a 54-acre block of sandy, limestone-rich vineyards that sit in an impressive natural amphitheater. Hand-picked grapes ferment with only natural yeasts, and the wines mature in steel to maintain their purity and typicity.
